Maya's 2026
The Tower Year
FireMaya, this is your Tower year. The card that meets you in 2026 is the one that brings down what was never going to hold, and the twelve months below carry that pressure in their own shapes. What follows is the Tower's own reading. Read it knowing it's your year, not a weather report for someone else's.
Your year
This is a year of necessary clearing. Your card this year is the Tower, and the next twelve months are asking some things that haven't been holding to finally fall. That's real and it's probably going to feel like more than you signed up for in the moment. The gift is available on the other side: the ground after the false structure comes down is real ground, and what you build on it will hold. The shadow is the year of collateral clearing, the Tower arriving with more force than the specific thing that needed to fall, taking load-bearing walls with it. Stay close to what's actually true in what's going. Not everything that shakes is ready to come down.
How your Bearing meets the year
Your Bearing is the Lovers, the part of you that chooses with your whole self showing, that feels the difference in your body between the choices that settle you and the ones that keep you slightly clenched. That's air: choosing, alignment, being known and not turned away. The Tower is fire, and it runs against your grain. Where the Lovers waits to feel your whole self agree, the Tower doesn't wait for agreement. It takes the wall down and lets you find out afterward what you stood on. Picture a week where a thing you'd been holding up with both hands finally drops, and the relief and the loss arrive in the same breath. The part of you that likes to choose on purpose will want to have chosen this. You didn't. It fell anyway.
The arithmetic is quieter than it sounds. The Tower is your Lovers carried ten steps forward, the same instinct for what's true pushed all the way to where the false thing can't stand anymore. What you do best, feeling the clench and knowing something doesn't fit, is exactly what a Tower year needs. And December returns you to yourself: your last month of the year is the Lovers again, your own Bearing. The year that started by knocking down the cage ends by handing you back the thing you've always been, the choice made from your actual center. You close 2026 as you.
The stages you move through
Your year opens deep in Reckoning and works backward toward the beginning. January through May move through the accounting cards: the Star returning something that went away, the Moon in February with its half-seen pull, the Sun in March, Judgement in April closing the case, the World in May marking a thing as finished. Then June turns the whole thing over. From the Fool in June through December's Lovers, you're in Initiation, gathering the equipment again, the first moves and unmapped tries, a life getting reassembled after the clearing. The year runs the story in reverse: you reckon first, then you begin.
Testing is the stage this year never enters. Not one month lands there. Strength, the Hermit, the Wheel, Justice, the Hanged One, Death, Temperance, all of it sits out of reach in 2026. That's the hard middle, the place that asks what you're made of when the equipment is worn and breaking. The Tower will feel like plenty on its own, and it is, but the year isn't asking you to be tested in that grinding, drawn-out way. It's asking you to let something fall and then start rebuilding, not to endure a long siege. The collapse is quick. The work after it is fresh ground, not trial.
Element weather
Air leads your year, four months of it, the element of your own Bearing, clustered in the summer when June, July, and December put choosing and beginning back in your hands. Water is the thin one, only February and August. That means the year gives you very little space to sit in the murk and feel your way through slowly. February's Moon and August's High Priestess are nearly the only months that let you not-know on purpose. Everything around them wants clarity, action, a verdict. When those two water months come, protect them. They're where you get to feel something before you're asked to name it.
Month by month
This month your card is the Star. Something is coming back that went away for a while. Notice it. Let it be small. You don't have to announce a recovery or perform a comeback. The thing to watch: the Star month can tip into bypassing, reaching for the light as a way of not finishing the dark. If there's still some dark to be in, be in it. The Star is patient. The renewal comes when it comes.
This month your card is the Moon. Something is moving that can't be fully seen yet. Follow the pull. Let the dream tell you something. Don't force the clarity before it arrives. The thing to watch: the Moon month can tip into spiral, the not-knowing becoming a breeding ground for imagined shapes rather than real sensing. Notice whether what you're feeling is a signal or a scared mind filling in the dark. Both are in there. One of them is worth following.
This month your card is the Sun. Let yourself be glad. Let it be simple. The thing to watch: the Sun month can tip into pressure, the brightness that's supposed to be here making the actual mixed feelings harder to admit. If the joy is real, let it be real without performing it. If it's not all the way there yet, you don't have to fake it. The Sun comes back. It doesn't require your help.
This month your card is Judgement. Something is asking you to account for yourself and then let the accounting close. The review is worth doing. It's not worth living in. Name what you've learned, forgive what's forgivable, and take the step toward what comes next. The thing to watch: Judgement month can produce continued self-examination that looks like depth and functions as delay. At some point this month, stop re-opening the case. The verdict is in. You're allowed to rise.
This month your card is the World. Something is finishing or has finished. Let it be done. Name it, feel it, mark it in whatever way is yours. The thing to watch: the World month can tip into the impostor feeling, the arrival you can't quite inhabit because surely you missed something, surely it doesn't count yet. It counts. The circle closed. You're standing inside the wreath. Let yourself be there.
This month your card is the Fool, and the door's propped open. It's a good stretch for the first move, the unmapped try, the yes you say before it's all worked out. Let yourself take it. The only thing to watch is the version where you keep starting and never stay, where the openness becomes a way of dodging anything that would hold you to it. You don't have to finish this month. You just don't have to flee it either. Begin lightly, and mean it.
This month your card is the Magician, and your energy is organizing. Whatever you've been circling with a plan that hasn't quite become a plan, this is the stretch where it can. The tools are on the table. The thing to watch: a Magician month can spend itself in preparation, always about to begin, and somehow the month passes before you do. You don't need better conditions. Begin with what's here and let one thing become real before the month turns.
This month your card is the High Priestess, and the right pace is slower than usual. Something is forming below the surface that isn't ready to be named yet. Don't rush it. Trust the signal you're getting even before you can explain it. The thing to watch: this month can make it very comfortable to stay inside the not-knowing past the point where it's useful. There's a difference between waiting for clarity and avoiding what you've already sensed. If you already know, you already know.
This month your card is the Empress. Create. Tend what matters. Enjoy what you've made. The energy supports generativity in whatever form yours takes, and it does not require you to produce anything in particular. The thing to watch: the Empress month can tip into obligation, the care that stops being a pleasure and becomes a performance of care. If the giving starts to feel like grinding, that's your signal. Your own ground first.
This month your card is the Emperor. It's a good month to finish something, settle something, or put a framework around something that has been running loose. Your follow-through is strong right now. The thing to watch: the Emperor month can tip into over-managing, tightening the grip on things that would run better with more air. Build what needs to be built. Then let it breathe.
This month your card is the Hierophant. A good month to go back to something foundational, to sit with a practice or a teaching you've been carrying a long time and feel whether it still has life in it. The thing to watch: the Hierophant month can make it comfortable to defer to the authority of what's always been done instead of asking what this moment actually needs. The tradition exists to serve you, not the other way around.
This month your card is the Lovers. Something is asking to be chosen or to be named. The energy supports real connection, honest conversation, and the kind of choice that comes from your actual center rather than from what's expected of you. The thing to watch: the Lovers month can tip into fixation on the choice rather than the making of it. You probably already know what you want. Trust the knowing.
Skills this year asks
- Grounding your body when everything feels like crisis
- Naming what was false or forced in the thing that fell
- Letting grief have a container while the dust settles
- Telling a real collapse apart from a survivable scare
- Rebuilding slowly, without rushing to look fine
Reflection questions
- The Tower runs against your Lovers grain, taking down what you never got to choose. Where in your life is the clench you already feel, the thing that looks fine on paper and keeps you braced?
- Your year reckons before it begins, closing the World in May before the Fool opens the door in June. What are you hoping is finished before you'd let yourself start again?
- Testing sits out entirely this year. If nothing is asking you to prove what you're made of, what would you do with a year that only asks you to clear and then rebuild?
- February and August are your only slow, unknowing months in a year built for clarity. What is it you keep sensing but haven't let yourself say out loud yet?
- December hands you back the Lovers, your own card, the choice from your actual center. Who or what do you already suspect you'll be choosing when the dust has settled?
