The Fool Year

A Fool year starts you over. Something opens up that you don't have the map for yet, and the invitation is to step toward it before you can see where your foot lands. Expect first days more than finished things: the job you're not qualified for on paper, the city you move to knowing no one, the practice you pick up decades later than the world says you should. You carry less than you think you need and more faith than you're used to trusting. The year asks you to be a beginner on purpose.

What to do with a Fool yearStart the thing before you feel ready, and let being a beginner be part of it. When the urge to leap shows up, check once whether you're moving toward something or away from it, then go.
