It also sits in a run you can watch move. The 2020s opened on the Emperor and have stepped one card a year ever since: the Hierophant, the Lovers, the Chariot, Strength, the Hermit, the Wheel of Fortune, and now Justice. The decade keeps climbing to Death in 2029, and then the digits reset and 2030 drops back to the Hierophant. Justice years land nine apart. The last two were 2009 and 2018.
What a Justice year asks of everyone
Justice is the part of you that wants the truth even when it costs something. It's fairness, accountability, the clear sight that names what's real. The image is a figure holding a sword in one hand and scales in the other, and unlike every other card in the Major Arcana, the figure is looking straight at you.
It comes straight after the Wheel of Fortune. The Wheel just turned and dropped everyone somewhere new, and Justice is what meets them there: the clear-eyed accounting of where things actually stand. Whatever 2026 rearranged for you, 2027 asks you to look at it squarely and say what it is.
At the scale of a year, that gaze turns outward. The collective is being asked to look honestly at what's been built, what it has cost, and who paid. Things that were papered over get harder to paper over. Upright, this is the relief of finally telling the truth: the conversation where you stop spinning it and just say what happened, and something in your chest unclenches.
The shadow of a Justice year at scale is uneven accountability. The reckoning finds the usual suspects, and the systems that produced them go untouched. Closer in, it's the machinery of not facing it, the blame shifted just enough to keep your hands clean, the consequences dodged until they compound. The sword turns inward too, and becomes the inner judge that finds you guilty of everything and pardons nothing. A year of honest accounting can tip into self-prosecution with no defense and no verdict.
Justice reverses a second way, and that one matters for a year like this. It refuses to confuse the law with what's right. The 2027 tarot card for each month
The collective month card is the year's card plus the number of the month, wrapped on the wheel. Which makes the whole year visible in advance:

Look at where that starts. January opens on the Hanged One, card twelve, already past the middle of the deck, and every month after it climbs. Death, Temperance, the Devil, the Tower, the Star, the Moon, the Sun, Judgement, and by October the World, card twenty-one, the end of the line. Then the deck runs out. November is the Fool at zero and December is the Magician, the first two steps of the journey starting over while the calendar is still finishing the old one.
Seven of those months, April through October, sit in the Reckoning stretch, the last third of the Major Arcana's three stages. Seven is as many as any year can get, because the stretch is only seven cards wide. February is Death and May is the Tower, the two cards people brace for, and at collective scale both mean the same unglamorous thing: something that was already over stops pretending otherwise. That's a description of a year rather than a prediction about your life. A collective card gives you the weather everyone is standing in, and weather is worth knowing before you dress for it.
Your personal 2027 tarot card
Your own card for the year uses your birthday. Add your birth month and your birth day to the year's eleven, wrap the total on the wheel of twenty-two, and that's your personal 2027 card.
Your birth month plus your birth day is something you may already know. It's your Bearing, the card your birthday carries in every year there is, which makes the whole calculation for next year very short. Your Bearing, plus eleven.
Eleven is exactly half of twenty-two, which means 2027 does something no other year this decade does. It stands every single person directly across the wheel from their own card, as far from the Bearing as the wheel allows. A March 15 birthday carries the Moon, card eighteen. Eighteen plus eleven is twenty-nine, which wraps to seven, the Chariot. Whatever your birthday points to, next year sets you down on the far side of it.
The gap between your card and the collective card stays your Bearing. It doesn't move. Same distance every year, on every date, at every level of the reading: Justice for everyone, your own card that many steps around.
